Impact Detacher

The Impact Detacher is designed to loosen and separate compressed semolina, middlings, and flour particles created during the grinding process. By improving particle liberation before sifting, it increases flour extraction rates, enhances milling efficiency, and supports superior product quality.

The Impact Detacher is a specialized milling machine installed between Roller Mills and Plansifters to improve the efficiency of the grinding and sifting process. During reduction passages, semolina and middlings can become compressed into flakes or agglomerated particles. These compacted particles often contain valuable endosperm that cannot be effectively separated during normal sifting operations.

The Impact Detacher applies controlled centrifugal and impact forces to break apart these compacted particles without over-grinding the product. This process releases flour particles trapped within semolina flakes and allows the Plansifter to classify the product more efficiently. As a result, mills can achieve higher flour extraction rates while maintaining flour quality and stable ash levels.

Unlike conventional grinding machines, the Impact Detacher is not intended to reduce particle size directly. Instead, it acts as a product liberation and de-agglomeration system, ensuring that valuable endosperm particles are fully separated before entering the sifting process. This contributes to improved milling performance, reduced load on subsequent passages, and optimized flour recovery.

OZAN Milling Impact Detacher solutions are engineered for high efficiency, low energy consumption, and reliable continuous operation. Their compact design allows easy installation within existing mill diagrams while delivering measurable improvements in extraction performance and overall mill profitability.
